April 24th – Boiling Water Bath – Food Preservation Seminar Series at Garden Gate Green House, 3415 E. 500 S. at 6:30 pm. We are pleased to offer a series of seminars this year focused on preserving food. This seminar will be about identifying acid foods and why they may be safely canned in a boiling water canner. Procedures for correct use, along with safe containers and closures for water bath canning, will be discussed. Jane will also speak on why home canned acid foods may spoil or be of poor quality and recommend correct procedures. Demonstrations of a traditional water bath canner and an electric water bath canner will be given. The cost will be $10 for each seminar.
